The 4 WasmEdge Projects you can apply to
Port WasmEdge and the WASI-NN ggml backend to the s390x platform
Help WasmEdge run on even more systems. You’ll work with the toolchain, interpreter, AOT compilation, and validate that AI plugins like WASI-NN + ggml work on s390x.
- Great for those with knowledge of C++, LLVM, or cross-compilation.

Use Runwasi with WasmEdge runtime to test multiple WASM apps as cloud services
Design an interactive, multi-node Kubernetes testbed using Runwasi + WasmEdge. The goal? End-to-end validation is a GitHub CI workflow demonstrating managing multiple WASM cloud services with Runwasi.
- Great for who are interested in Rust, and Kubernetes orchestration.

Support bitnet.cpp as a new WASI-NN plugin
Integrate Microsoft’s bitnet.cpp, a super-lightweight 1-bit LLM implementation, as a new WASI-NN plugin in WasmEdge. Make it possible to run LLMs without needing a GPU.
- Great for those with knowledge of C++, LLM, and BitNet
- GitHub issue: https://github.com/WasmEdge/WasmEdge/issues/4110

Create an MCP-based AI agent to help LF certificate prep
Use open-source LLMs and WasmEdge to create a smart study assistant for the LF certification that can serve practice questions, answer queries, and explain concepts interactively. You’ll build on the LlamaEdge framework with a standard MCP server.
- Great for who are interested in Local AI, tool call, and MCP servers.
